There are some basic steps
you can take to prevent skin care conditions. These steps are
taken first to prevent a problem. Starting a basic skin care
routine and using it every day will prevent most problems but
there are times when a problem will occur.
The most common skin condition is acne. Do not
touch the blemishes. Picking at, or squeezing, or touching the
blemishes will aggravate the condition. Use a mild cleanser
recommended for the skin care treatment of acne. Do not scrub
your face too hard. You can purchase an over-the-counter skin
care treatment for acne.
If you have dry skin, use a moisturizer. For
best results, apply the moisturizer while your skin is damp. If
you have not noticed a change in 3 or 4 weeks, you should visit
your dermatologist for advice on treating your dry
skin.
Exposure to the UV rays of the sun can cause
brown spots on the areas of your skin that are exposed such as
your face, arms, and hands. Use a sunscreen with a high SPF
factor of 15 or more. You should apply sunscreen even if the
sun is not shining. If you are going to be out in the sun for a
prolonged period of time, you may also consider wearing
garments with long sleeves or carrying an umbrella.
You should put a daily skin routine into place.
Bring proactive can prevent many skin conditions from starting.
If you use over-the-counter products and the do not work, you
should see your dermatologist. Take the product with you and
explain how you have been using it. Your dermatologist may
prescribe a special product for you to use. Healthy skin is
important to your overall health.
